Linear In-Line High Frequency Tilt Compensator
The Tilt Compensator is an in-line filter designed to create an attenuation loss equal and opposite to cable loss. Coaxial cable attenuates high frequencies greater than low frequencies. This problem is most severe when cascading amplifiers one after another. The signal differences are attenuated to a point where the high frequency signals are so small compared to the low frequency signals that the high frequency signals can no longer be received. The Tilt Compensator provides a balanced signal level by compensating for 200 feet of coax cable loss and allowing all signal levels on all channels to be of equal amplitude at distant locations. Therefore, the picture quality on the higher channels will be maintained.
The is designed to work with RG-6 coax cable carrying signals in the 5 MHz to 1 GHz range. When an RG-6 cable run reaches 200 feet, install a TC-200A Tilt Compensator whenever an amplifier stage follows. A female barrel connector is included for in-line applications. It is non-directional, the input can be connected to either end.
